The scientific committee for the International Mental Health Nursing Research Conference 2018 met in London on May 23rd, to consider all abstracts received and nominations to deliver this year’s MHNAUK Lecture.
The conference is organised annually by MHNAUK and the Royal College of Nursing. Its success is down to the willingness of people to share their ideas and their findings, and to engage in lively, informed, discussion. The conference committee thanks all who submitted abstracts, and looks forward to meeting together in Manchester on September 13th-14th. A conference programme will appear in due course.
MHNAUK and the #MHNR2018 conference committee are also delighted to announce that the Mental Health Nurse Academics UK Lecture for 2018 will be given by Professor Alan Simpson. This annual lecture is given by the person who, in the opinion of the MHNR committee, the Chair and the Vice Chair of MHNAUK has made the most significant contribution to the promotion and enhancement of mental health nursing education, research, policy and/or practice. Alan, who is Professor of Collaborative Mental Health Nursing at City, University of London, served as Chair of MHNAUK in 2011-12 and will deliver a keynote paper titled, Place, purpose and politics: the final farewell tour for mental health nursing?
We congratulate Alan, and look forward to welcoming him to #MHNR2018 in the Autumn.
